Get to Know the Sioux City Wellness Community | Special Guest | Susan Erickson Certified Life Coach

"Beliefs hold us back, or move us forward."

Have you ever done something challenging, yet healing? Have you ever experienced something you might not otherwise have thought would be freeing, or eye-opening, or put you in a mind space you knew you were capable of, just couldn't make your way back to that positivity?

There truly is something magical when working with a Life Coach. You can focus on minor areas that need some focus, or dive deep into major areas of your life. Squashing limited beliefs, and accepting everything as a gift in life will lead you on a path to captivating your full potential.

I was so fortunate to attend one of Susan's workshops "Learnings from the Ashram - Do the Work, Defeating Negative Thoughts"

"If you want to change, you have to do the work of making changes. Negative thought patterns can be a thing of the past, but you have to learn how to defeat them first."

Susan walked us through the negative thoughts, how we feel in those moments, intentions and emotions, and how to turn around the negativity surrounding us and create a better outcome for ourselves. It was AMAZING!

She provided journals in her workshop to put our thoughts on paper and really focus on our mind work. It was an open space to share, unite, and understand our own emotions and feelings. Susan is so good at connecting and bringing her studies, experience, and profound knowledge to each individual.

Get to know Susan a little more with our Q&A below. You will find ways to connect with her, as well as how you can attend an upcoming workshop.

Where are you from?

"I am from Sioux City. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership. My career in healthcare spans 30 years including human resources, administrator at a cardiology clinic, Director of Network Operations for primary and specialty clinics, and my most recent role as Chief Operating Officer for a family medicine clinic."

Why did you choose this path of Life Coaching?

"Just like all of life's purpose, it has been a journey of self-discovery. I think the path chose me. Listening closely to that quiet voice and all my past life experiences led me to my calling of being a Life Coach. The calling provides me the most ability to impact others, and the most personal reward, as that of a wife, mother, and grandmother. I have learned to be caring and stern at the same time.  I have learned to get what I need without trampling the feelings of others.  Most importantly I have learned that you can be kind and extend grace without giving in. I bring these qualities to coaching, which provides me the ability to extend to others, this capacity for action with graciousness, a rare combination."

What do you enjoy best about what you do each day?

"The most satisfying of all for me is helping others develop the tools needed to support and maintain the vision they create. I enjoy the community and sharing experiences and life with one another. Coaching has provided me the ability to continue my pursuit of life long learning. It’s not just what you were taught, it’s how you use your knowledge to create progress in your life and the lives of those around you that is true education."

What are your specialties

What are your specialties and what might set you apart from others alike? "I am a seeker and guide. My niches are transition, leadership, and legacy coaching. It is my mission to guide you in discerning your purpose and calling. This is what will guide you back to your authentic self."
